Google Analytics without cookies? Check out Koko Analytics!

Today I'm having a deep-dive look at the differences between the privacy-focused Koko Analytics and the not-so privacy-focused Google Analytics. If you've been following this channel for a while you'll know that it's becoming increasingly difficult to use Google Analytics (GA) due to privacy concerns. About 1 year ago the ICO in the UK put out guidance explaining that you CAN'T use GA without active consent from your website visitor. This makes GA all but redundant since the vast majority of visitors don't understand what web analytics are and therefore don't give active consent - so GA ends up not counting their visit. Multiply this across thousands or millions of users and the use of GA becomes entirely pointless. This is a shame but for many smaller websites GA was probably overkill anyway. If you have a WordPress website and are looking for a lightweight, simple analytics plugin, Koko Analytics might be the answer! Let's see how it compares.
