This was a late-February solo winter camping trip in Ontario, Canada. The region had just gone through a deep-freeze for several days. The previous night's temperatures had dipped down to around -30ºC. Despite this, I tried to remain cautious. Before heading out I surveyed topographic and satellite maps of the area to help identify the locations of the bodies of water I would come across. What happed completely took me by surprise. I consider myself very lucky as things would have been much worse had the water been deeper. I will certainly be even more cautious in the future, and I hope this video can serve as a reminder for you to do the same. I'd be interested to know if you've had any similar experiences. I hope to see you on the next adventure. ~Kev My Gear: Tarp: Rab Siltarp 2 Sleeping Bag: MEC Talon -30c Inflatable Pad: MEC VectAir Insulated Foam Pad: Thermarest Ridgerest Knife: Kabar Big Brother Saw: Silky Gomboy Backpack: Osprey Aether AG 85 Shell Jacket: US Military Surplus Goretex Parka (Gen 1) Fleece Jacket: Canadian Army Surplus Down Jacket: Decathlon MT 900 0:00 Intro 1:29 Setting-up Camp 7:25 Falling Through 14:25 Next Morning
