Even in kindergarten, I terrified my teachers with drawings of skulls — torn flesh, dripping blood, imagination unbound. The Black Doors is my ultimate tribute to the art of body horror. It honors the masterpieces that shaped me: The Thing, From Beyond, Videodrome, Hellraiser, Troma’s Poltergeist, An American Werewolf in London, Zombie Flesh Eaters, and many others. The color palette draws directly from From Beyond — neon reds and blues that pulse with otherworldly energy and decay. This project functions both as a 360° immersive experience and a cinematic 2D feature, merging dimensions to pull viewers deeper into its biomechanical nightmare. For this edition, I created FX never before visualized — a breathtaking fusion of the digital and the organic. It is 100% biomechanical flesh — raw, haunting, and utterly unique. The Secret of the Screen There is a secret: The television screen has become the retina of the mind’s eye. It is a portal, a doorway, like Hellraiser’s puzzle box. It is a tesseract, a source code, a multidimensional construct — existing in 3D, 360°, and 2D simultaneously. Its design was first imagined by M.C. Escher in his painting Relativity — a world where time, direction, and gravity collapse into paradox. This film is my ode to that impossible geometry — a hellish dimension rendered at 60 frames per second, where past, present, and future coexist in the same breath. It is also a homage to Hellraiser II: Hellbound, and to Leviathan — the god-machine of geometry and madness. A Descent Beyond Cinema The Black Doors is not simply a film — it is an experience. A descent into the subconscious. A philosophical and psychological body-horror odyssey. Born from the mind of Daniel FX Staal, it merges stop-motion, deepfake AI, 3D modeling, green screen, and live action into a hallucinatory, surreal nightmare. It pays tribute to the masters — H.R. Giger, David Cronenberg, and Clive Barker — while forging an entirely new mythology of flesh, guilt, and possession. And yes — the Horror Masters themselves appear within this universe.
