How I write a song

I thought it would be fun to give you a little insight into how I write a song. This is not scripted at all. I had no idea what would happen and just sat down at a keyboard to see what, if anything came out. These initial ideas have subsequently turned into something much more developed and will hopefully make its way into a new Cosmograf album. What it shows is literally the birth of a musical idea, just sparked from experimenting with chord structures and I've tried to explain what I am doing as it appears out of the ether. It's a weird feeling at times, as though you are conjuring something other worldly. Sometimes nothing develops and other ideas don't progress much further but it when it goes right it's probably the best bit of being a musician.
