According to one theory, Arabic can be thought of as the sixth or seventh generation Semitic language. It’s the last, greatest, and most advanced Semitic language. And that’s why Jews look to Arabic when they don’t know a word in Hebrew. They use the Arabic word to extrapolate words in their own language. Hebrew, Aramaic, and Arabic are sister languages. As such, there will always be similarities and differences. If you know Arabic, you can learn Hebrew (or other Semitic languages) in relatively little time. The sister languages of Arabic (such as Hebrew, Aramaic, Syriac, etc.) do have many similarities with Arabic in terms of grammar and morphology. However, they are vastly underdeveloped compared to Arabic, as we will see in this video. Note: While we cannot confirm or deny if Jesus actually said it (Mathew 27:46), it is conceivable that he may have said it. The Quranic verse (2:214) hints at this, وَاللهُ أَعْلَمُ. Regardless, the point here is to demonstrate the remarkable similarity between Semitic languages, Aramaic with Arabic, and not to get into a debate over the authenticity of the statement. And Allah knows best.
