And let me tell you that fear of cats is no different from the fear of spiders or the fear of heights. While most people look at cats like some cute little ball of fur, definitely not you. So, let’s talk about that in this video. Welcome to How to defeat your fear of animals series. This is the Life Hack Lion, the channel that gives you amazing life hacks and interesting facts. Fear of cats has no definite name so it goes a lot of names, including ailurophobia, elurophobia, felinophobia, galeophobia, and gataphobia. Whatever you call it, fear of cats is a recognised specific phobia. And a lot of people have it so you should know that you are not alone. A phobia, in general, is an uncontrollable, irrational, and persistent fear of something, while “feline” is a Latin word that refers to a cat. So, felinophobia is the irrational and uncontrollable fear of cats. Different people have different levels of fear of cats. Some people may only experience trouble seeing real cats, others may have difficulty if they see anything that reminds them of cats or even see the word or hear the sounds that they make. Fortunately, there are ways to help you overcome that fear. Bear with me as I lead you through each step to defeating your fear of cats. The only way it’s going to be successful is if you keep it up. If at all possible, practice daily. And if needed, you can also build a reward system so you will be encouraged to work towards each step.
