The Cabinet Secretary for Interior and National Administration, Kipchumba Murkomen, has ordered the launch of an operation to flush out criminals in Isiolo County. He said the operation will begin immediately following a series of attacks that have been reported in the county in recent days. He made the announcement after chairing a security meeting in Isiolo town, which was attended by the Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja, the Eastern Regional Commissioner, Isiolo County Commissioner David Kiprop, and other security officials. Political leaders led by Isiolo governor Abdi Guyo, SenatorFatuma Dullo and Women Rep Mumina Bonaya were all present. Murkomen said the operation will be conducted jointly by all security agencies, including the National Police Service (NPS), the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF), the National Intelligence Service (NIS), the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS), and the Kenya Forest Service (KFS). The operation will target livestock thieves, individuals who finance criminals by purchasing ammunition and firearms for them, as well as buyers of stolen livestock. He also issued a warning to criminals who have been carrying out robberies within Isiolo town, as well as those who incite communities against one another. The Cabinet Secretary stated that the operation will also involve the recovery of illegal firearms in the hands of civilians, and he urged anyone in possession of such weapons to surrender them to the police immediately. However, Murkomen blamed some police officers for negligence of duty, directing the police commander to ensure that all officers report to work and carry out their responsibilities diligently. At the same time, he announced that police officers who have served in the area for a long time will be transferred with immediate effect. Additionally, Murkomen urged chiefs to convene meetings to resolve existing conflicts related to grazing land, and called on communities to respect the agreements reached. He further promised support for National Police Reservists (NPR) officers to help strengthen security in the area. #kipchumbamurkomen #security #bandits #operation #youtubeshorts #trending #kamchutv #isiolocounty #isiolocountynews #isiolo
