SUBSCRIBE TO OUR CHANNEL Youtube: / sahajanandgaave Instagram: / sahajanand_gaave On this auspicious occasion of Sharad Purnima, We are pleased to release a classical bandish of Swaminarayan Sampraday, written by Sadguru Muktanand Swami (1758 - 1830 CE). Through the grace and blessings of Bhagwan Shri Swaminarayan, we have initiated a humble attempt to publicize the classical work of Swaminarayan saints (paramhansas) and devotees in its traditional form. We have tried our best to maintain the original raag, taal and classical forms mentioned by paramhansas within the manuscripts. This classical bandish is beautifully composed in Raag Yaman in Ektaal by Smt. Apoorva Gokhale and it is brilliantly sung by Shri Aditya Apte. Smt. Apoorva Gokhale is a renowned classical vocalist and a leading exponent of Gwalior Gharana. Shri Aditya Apte is an exceptionally trained classical vocalist under the guidance of Shri Madhusudan Apte and Smt. Manisha Apte. He is currently attaining advanced training from Pandit Ulhas Kashalkarji. Raag Yaman is a traditional Hindustani raag originating from Kalyan thaat. It is a sampurna-jaati raag consisting of all 7 notes. Some scholars believe that Raag Yaman is same as ancient Raag Kalyan which was renamed as ‘Yaman’ during the Muslim rule in India. However, some scholars refer to Raag Kalyan as different from Raag Yaman. Nevertheless, Yaman is an extremely popular raag in contemporary Hindustani classical music and it is one of the first raags that Hindustani classical students learn. This bandish is set in Raag Yaman by Sadguru Muktanand Swami as per the original manuscript. We sincerely hope that the viewers will admire our humble devotion in the holy feet of Bhagwan Shri Swaminarayan and will support our trivial effort towards reviving the classical music of Swaminarayan Sampraday. We hope that this devotional classical bandish will enhance the glory of Bhagwan Swaminarayan and his paramhansas across the field of Hindustani Classical Music and it will further strengthen love, devotion and reverence of viewers towards Bhagwan Swaminarayan and his saints.
