Summary: What Is MEPS?: This is where you go to take the ASVAB, and this is also where you get a full exam to see if you qualify to join the military What To Bring To MEPS?: In general, you'll need to bring legal documents to MEPS. You also need your parental consent forms if you're under 18. If you're unsure about what to bring, your recruiter will exactly what you need. What Should You Wear To MEPS?: I recommend bringing something that looks professional, but is easy to take off and put back on. Preparing The Day Before MEPS: Get a good night's sleep, avoid drinking coffee/greasy foods in the morning, and avoid using mouthwash with alcohol as well. Urine Test: One of the things you'll do is pee into a cup where they'll check for any drugs in your system. If you're shy and you can't do this without people in the same room watching you, practice before going to MEPS. Blood Test: They're also going to draw your blood to check for any health issues, so don't freak out. Hearing Test: This is easy. All you have to do is press the clicker every time you hear a sound. Vision Test: They're gonna check how good/bad your eyesight is, and check for color blindness. Physical Exam: You're going be doing physical movements to see if you're able to do basic things. Doctor's Exam: They're gonna check your joints, genitals, as well as for any scars, and previous injuries. Taking The ASVAB: This is gonna determine if you qualify to join the military, as well as what job you can get. TIPS: Listen To Orders And Move Fast: Be attentive to their instructions and stay engaged because you have to move fast, and when it's slow, try not to fall asleep. Be Honest With Your Recruiter: Tell your recruiter your medical issues, drug issues, and legal issues if you have any of them. Hydrate Before Going To MEPS: Start drinking small amounts of water in the morning so that you'll be able to pee during your urine test.
