The design of temporary structures is often underestimated due to their short service life, yet they demand the same attention as permanent structure especially at the connections. If not properly verified, connection failures can trigger instability, collapse, and serious risk during construction. While IDEA StatiCa is known for handling designs of complex connections and concrete D-regions for permanent structures, in this webinar it will be something different that many engineers often underestimated. We will demonstrate how to design the connections for the strutting system of a sheet pile retaining wall for deep excavation works as well as the design of reinforcement and anchoring of its thrust block, which is commonly designed using spreadsheets.
