The 83-metre vessel integrated the CatchCam camera with their sensor system to monitor catch behaviour inside the net. Now back in Vigo, after a fishing season in the Falkland Islands, the skipper shared the underwater footage with our team. Watch some of this footage above. The underwater footage above reveals insights into what is happening in the squid trawler during deployment. In fact, we can observe a lot of movement underwater: from catch behaviour, to its interaction with the net and the small amount of bycatch. All this footage serves as evidence, which can support the skipper during fishing operations.
