Facebook: / catpickstudios Instagram @catpickstudios Threads @catpickstudios Video Summary: In this video, I introduce my brand new Fender Road Worn ‘50s Stratocaster – a guitar I picked up while working at the TSR event at Thomann. Join me in my studio as I walk through what makes this guitar special, why I chose it, and how it feels and sounds in a real-world setup. We start by looking at the specs: an alder body with nitrocellulose finish, Tex-Mex single-coil pickups, and a one-piece aged maple neck with a soft V profile. I talk about the tasteful relic’ing on the body and neck, which gives it a convincingly played-in feel, and how that contributed to its standout character during my guitar hunt. You’ll hear the guitar in action as I demo it through my Revv Dynamis amp and Two Notes Torpedo Live, covering clean tones, crunchy gain, and heavier drive sounds. I also discuss some quirks and modifications I might do – including reworking the tone control wiring and adding shielding for better noise control. The video also includes a behind-the-scenes story about how Kris Barocsi helped fix a fret-buzzing issue by subtly adjusting the fretboard radius – making the guitar much more playable. Whether you're curious about the Road Worn series, thinking of picking up a Strat, or just enjoy hearing great tones, this video gives an honest, in-depth look at what makes this guitar special. And no – it's not perfect. But it’s mine, and I absolutely love it. 👉 Watch to hear the tones, see the details, and decide if this guitar might be right for you too!
