In this video, PART 4, I finish the final drive maintenance on a BMW R1200GS (2008) — the correct and safe way, The Old Mechanic style. My special ratchet: 👉 Proxxon 23082 Rotary Ratchet, 1/4 inch Drive: https://amzn.to/4alI0cI While refilling the final drive, I discovered there was only 150 mL of oil inside, instead of the required 180 mL. Running too little oil can seriously shorten the life of the final drive, so correcting this is critical. Always route the ABS sensor cable correctly and torque the rear wheel, caliper, and plugs to spec. Doing it right prevents expensive damage later. In this video I show you: ➡️Refilling the final drive with the correct oil quantity (180 mL) ➡️Proper torqueing of the final drive filler plug ➡️Correct ABS sensor cable routing (very important!) ➡️Mounting and torqueing the rear brake caliper ➡️Mounting and torqueing the rear wheel to factory specification ➡️Final safety checks before the bike goes back on the road ⚠️ Important safety reminders: Always make sure the bike is stable and secure Incorrect ABS sensor cable routing can cause faults or damage Always use a torque wrench When in doubt, check the official BMW service manual for exact torque values Doing this maintenance yourself ensures it’s done right and helps you save serious money compared to dealership prices. 🔧 Tools I use and recommend: 👉 The Old Mechanic Tool Store (Amazon): https://www.amazon.com/shop/theoldmec...
