Basic Sadness - from "Living a Dream We're Not In" by Garry Dial and Jay Anderson

I'm excited to announce the new duo recording with my dear friend Garry Dial... "LIVING A DREAM WE'RE NOT IN". It's on the Steeplechase label. It was recorded September - December 2020 during the pandemic. Garry was in St John, USVI and I was in New Paltz, New York. It is a unique musical offering...not only because it was done "long distance", but because of the nature of the music. In spite of the physical distance between us, the process was an organic one. It was not done with click tracks but by passing audio back and forth. Usually, Garry would record his performance and send it to me. I would listen several times to internalize his performance then play with him, as if we were in a room together. The result is a rich, honest, and amazingly open recording. The listener will not be aware of the process, just the music. Please check it out. We're both very proud of it.
