In this video, I tested my 1KM running without any recent speed training or timing practice. For the past few years, I have not done any speed sessions or timing runs. I only maintain my fitness with daily fitness classes and strength training twice a week. So I tried running 1KM like a beginner, and my timing was 4 minutes 04 seconds. My personal best timing is 2 minutes 42 seconds, but today I struggled to complete 1KM in 4 minutes. This clearly shows that speed training and timing practice are very important. I am sharing this because many students think past sports or college experience is enough. But the truth is: 👉 You must always check your current performance level. For example: If your 1KM timing is 5:30, you need to reduce 1 minute 15 seconds. If your timing is 6 minutes, you need to reduce 1 minute 45 seconds. Once you know your current timing, you can set a clear goal and improve step by step.
