In this video, I bench tested one of the most popular 12V AC, the OutEquipPro 10Kbtu roof top RV AC. I did this using a DC House 12.8V 150Ah Lithium battery in my lab. During this Bench Test I Find that The Fan and Compressor Speed are programmed / Linked Together which would seem to me to be a potential problem as it would limit this ACs flexibility, but I also find that this AC is the most efficient AC I have ever tested ... so is it really a problem? The only way to tell will be to install it in my RV and do a real world test. Compressor speed is usually a function of the Mode the AC is in (Eco, Cool, Sleep, etc) not the fan speed but this AC is very different. As you increase the fan speed, you actually increase the compressor speed and hence the power consumption. So in any of the cooling modes you can not increase the fan without significantly increasing the power consumption which IMO, limits this AC power efficiency flexibility as I often change the fan speed while in my RV. However, this AC is also very efficient so is this really a problem, You tell me.
