Hiking up to St. John's Fortress above the old town of Kotor is an absolute must-do when you visit this place. We decided to go around the city and went up the 3 km switchbacks. Leaving in the morning was a great idea! From the top, you have an incredible view across the Bay of Kotor and you can see the old town of Kotor way down below. We enjoyed breakfast at the fortress and explored every bit of the fortress before heading back down the stairs.
