http://www.dayofsmallthings.co.uk/ The Dallas and Desperate Housewives star discusses what she inherited from her family. 'Day of Small Things' is an ongoing documentary project about the relativity of achievement. Over the last couple of years I have asked a range of people from fashion designers to philosophers how they define success and how our society’s vision of achievement is problematic. With over 70 hours of footage from sources like Booker Prize winners, top notch research scientists, Hollywood actors, and ordinary people who have achieved extraordinary things, the film aims to prove that achievement is as much about overcoming the obstacles directly in front of you as it is about having big dreams. It is my aim to create a film that will encourage people and support them in pursuing their own dreams. The overarching theme in these interviews is that all of us have achieved great things. This readily available documentary contains a message which is invaluable during these difficult times: we all struggle, success is not a straight line of progress, and setbacks can make us into successful people more than anything else. I have traveled all around the UK seeking to interview the amazing people we hear about every day and extraordinary people who aren't ever going to be in the public eye. From law makers, professional athletes, royalty and movie stars to single mothers, recovering alcoholics and dyslexics. I've been asking everybody the same question: how do you define achievement?
