Creating a solution to a problem and putting that plan into action from start-to-finish is easy. To start another iteration from scratch (multiple times) in order to enable efficiency; now that's a challenge! Over the iterations of this project I've come up with three different solutions to extracting and inputting FedEx tracking information for thousands of packages into a distribution sheet on Excel. Taking on this freelance project has been one of my greatest learning experiences as I got to apply skills from my educational background and learn new ones to tack on to my resume. It's been one of the key talking points in all of my co-op interviews. Through each of the iterations I learned and developed skills such as using Excel VLOOKUP and VBA Programming, web-scraping with Python, and now working with REST APIs and Power Query. I've put together this video showcasing the project and how it was done. If you're interested in how I did this, feel free to reach out on LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/sahibgaba. The code is available here on my GitHub page: https://github.com/sahibgaba1/FedEx-Tracking This video shows you how to use the FedEx Tracking program. It requires a FedEx Developer Account attached to your FedEx Shipping Account to be set up. This is easy and free to get if you don't already have one. I used Python to create the script and PowerShell to run it easily from my desktop. The CSV output is loaded back into my distribution sheet using Power Query in excel and VLookup functions were used to fill out the tracking information.
