Canna is located in the Inner Hebrides, the westernmost member of the archipelago known as the Small Isles. It is adjacent to the island of Sanday, which it is connected by a bridge, as well as sandbanks during low tide. The island is 6.9 km long and 1.6 km wide. Only 15 people are living here. The central part of the island is the harbor and its surroundings. It has a small unstaffed shop and a restaurant. There is also a post office converted from a garden shed. Electricity is powered by a diesel generator at mainland voltage and frequency, and there is a private water supply. There is no mobile phone coverage, but sometimes there is a weak signal.
