Some summer vibes for your winter evenings: --- Dreadlock Holiday (a reggae song by 10cc) --- We take you back to summer 2022, when we were happy to go back to Meley, France, to play another happy summer night in the garden of Le Voilà, a great Bistrot with super Chambres d'hôtes. It's run by Roeland & Milou, to Dutchies that are slowly turning completely French. We played at their wedding in 2019 after which their French adventure began, and we stayed in touch after that. We stayed with them to record some songs in their café and in their garden. We're happy to present them to you. Polle van Gijzel: drums/ukulele Daniel van Huffelen: ukelele bass (the double bass didn't fit in the car 😄) Jense Meek: accordion The songs in the Le Voilà Sessions series are: Tu vuo fa l'americano (a Neapolitan language song by Italian singer Renato Carosone) Chan Chan (a 1984 son composition by Cuban trovador Compay Segundo_ 'The song relates the story of a man and a woman (Chan Chan and Juanica) who are building a house, and go to the beach to get some sand. Chan Chan collects the sand and puts it on the jibe (a sieve for sand). Juanica shakes it, and to do so she shakes herself, making Chan Chan embarrassed. [...] The origin of this tale is a farmer song learnt by Compay Segundo when he was twelve years old.'
