Vivid Earth Science: Video Resources for Earth Science Teachers

Abstract: Earth science is a difficult subject to teach. It requires system-thinking, spatial thinking, intradisciplinary background and the understanding of geologic processes in deep time and board scales. Visual materials, therefore, are useful tools to help students understand geological concepts and processes. We will share scientifically accurate video resources developed by UTD geoscientists and aligned to middle-school TEKS. We will further discuss the development strategy and effectiveness of our videos for motivational and cognition purposes.
