This was my first outing in my AquaTec Ottawa Pro kayak, and I also took this opportunity to attach and test my new e-fin. I've created a playlist called Medway Canoe Trail (Revisited) and I'm tackling the entire trail, paddling from Tonbridge Slipway to Allington Lock in segments. Due to limited parking near many of the locks, I often have to park some distance away and paddle upstream to reach sections I want to film on the downstream journey. About the trail... The Medway Valley Walk, a 29 km (18-mile) trail, begins in Tonbridge and winds through the scenic countryside of the Medway Valley. Along the route, you'll pass several locks, including East Lock, Oak Weir Lock, and Sluice Weir Lock. A convenient rest stop is located at the access point near Hampstead Lock in Yalding After a delightful picnic at Teston Country Park, the trail leads onward to Maidstone, a town where history and modernity intertwine.
