Here's the next Three-For-All lesson and this time we're focusing on three Pentatonic licks that are fingered and arranged to allow a "shred-approved" approach, by changing the traditional fingerings and shapes found with this scale and expanding the notes to accommodate string-skipping, "stretch" fingerings, and intervallic sliding movements. These expansions (or extensions) of this common scale open the fingering and sound to new areas and avenues you can explore using a technical (or "shred") style of playing. You can easily hear different variations and versions of these three ideas in the playing of guitarists such as Paul Gilbert, John Petrucci, Buckethead, Steve Vai, and many other shred-minded guitarists.
