Gems of the Polish Baroque Ensemble Giardino di Delizie Brilliant Classics March 2020 Montaggio Video: Associazione Culturale l'Archetto, Roma 1-2 dicembre 2019 RADIO TRANSMISSIONS RADIO VATICANA Lo Scrigno Musicale 10.07.2020 https://www.vaticannews.va/it/podcast... Attilio Fortunato RADIO CAPODISTRIA 10.05.2020 "Sonoramente Classici" Intervista a Ewa Anna Augustynowicz, direttrice artistica del Giardino di Delizie https://www.rtvslo.si/4d/arhiv/174691... Luisa Antoni REVIEWS: http://www.musicweb-international.com... This disc offers a fascinating survey of the influence of the Italian style in Poland, and the way Polish composers were able to internalize that style and write fully idiomatic instrumental music. The Ensemble Giardino di Delizie delivers brilliant and exciting performances. Thanks to the music and the performers this is a disc to treasure. [JV] April 2021 Michael Wilkinson in http://musicweb-international.com/cla... "That there is didactic value is this release cannot be doubted, and for many listeners outside – and perhaps inside – Poland, the names of many and possibly all composers represented here will be unfamiliar. One should forget all that, as this is indeed a garden of delights, sensitively and beautifully performed, perfect for any lover of the Baroque.... The Rome-based Ensemble Giardino di Delizie, specialists in Roman and Polish Baroque, use their resources to provide great variety to the ear. The ensemble consists of two baroque violins, baroque cello, viola da gamba, theorbo, harpsichord and organ, with guest artists adding additional theorbo and viola da gamba, as well as violone and dulcian – the latter instrument, a predecessor of the bassoon, made normally from maple, with double reed and folded conical bore, has a distinctive sound. This blend of instruments, variously deployed, provides the opportunity for contrasts between works to emerge delightfully. Performances are sharply focused and enthusiastic: there is nothing routine in execution." Piotr Matwiejczuk in Ruch Muzyczny 6-7.2020 str. Roberta Pedrotti in l’Ape Musicale 16.06.2020 https://www.apemusicale.it/joomla/rec... Grzegorz Dusza https://audio.com.pl/muzyka/recenzje/... "Na podwójnym albumie "Gems of the Polish Baroque" znajdziemy znakomite interpretacje muzyczne klejnotów polskiego baroku, niemal sto minut ujmującej pięknem muzyki, w tym słynne Koncerty Jarzębskiego: Tamburettę i Cantate Domino." Private comments of our fans "Hello! A short note to thank and congratulate the whole ensemble on the Colista and Polish Baroque CDs. Both are fascinating discoveries of unfamiliar repertoire, well researched and skilfully performed. It is so refreshing to see such combination of scholarship and enthusiasm!" Best wishes Niall Hoskin
