Hi everyone, In this video, I go over 5 exercises that you can perform if you've had a rib fracture. It's important to note that these exercises progress in intensity and as such, would be inappropriate to perform all at once in the early phases, unless significant regressions are made based on symptom tolerance and pathway of healing. These are not the only exercises that can be performed, but are a basis to begin your rehab journey. The key with these exercises is to prevent complications that arise from not expanding the lungs and rib cage, primarily pneumonia due to pain. Although the pain is elevated, starting at a low level and progressing upwards will facilitate recovery. Most rib fractures take a few weeks to a few months to heal physiologically, however, one can still experience pain after the ribs have healed. Have you fractured your ribs?
