How to begin your PTCAS essay and what content to include

When it comes to the content you should include in your PTCAS essay, you need to include something that is exclusively unique and personal to you. The only thing that is 100% unique to you is your own personal life experience. Even if you have an identical twin who is also a pre-PT, no two pre-PTs have had the exact same life experiences! While you may have similar life experiences as other pre-PTs that does not mean that they are the same! So many pre-PTs want to take the safe road and write about how they are exactly the same as other pre-PTs. Please don’t do this as this will leave you forgotten and ignored. The most effective way to grab another person’s attention is to tell them a compelling story! One where you are the main character who resolves a conflict and has some personal character development along the way. The stories you use should use imagery, emotion, and authenticity to capture your reader’s attention. They also should showcase your greatest strengths as an applicant! You only have a few sentences to engage your reader’s attention to ensure that your essay will be read in its entirety and will be memorable.
