The Goa liberation movement was a movement which sought to end Portuguese colonial rule in Goa, India. The movement built on the small scale revolts and uprisings of the 19th century, and grew powerful during the period 1940-1961. The movement was conducted both inside and outside Goa. The Goa Opinion Poll was a referendum held in the state of Goa, India, on 16 January 1967, the people of Goa voted against the merger and Goa continued to be a union territory. Dr. Sequeria toured extensively over Goa conducting public meetings explaining the anti-merger stand. He also went to many places outside Goa. Goa became a full-fledged state within the Indian Union. Goa finally became a state on 30 May 1987. In 1987, the Goa legislative assembly passed a bill making Konkani the official language of Goa. After the liberation movement and the Goa opinion Poll movement, today it is the Revolutionary Goans movement. A nonviolent movement for the love of Goa and Goans. A movement to save our Goa and the rights of every person of Goan origin (POGO), a movement which has ignited a fire of Revolution in each and Goans heart, a movement with only one aim, “betterment of Goa and safeguard the rights of Person of Goan Origin”. Today there are so many illegal activities going on in our innocent and beautiful Goa but no action is been taken on such illegalities. Revolutionary Goans headed by Son of the soil, Manoj Parab along with his dedicated team have been fighting against all these issues for the betterment of Goa and Goans. I salute Manoj Parab for awakening Goans with the facts and inspired to come united as one and to raise our voices and stand tall against the illegalities and the corrupt. I dedicate this song to every Person of Goan Origin and I urge every Brother and Sister of Goan origin to come together as one. Let us unitedly fight for our rights and save Goa from the clutches of dictatorship and destruction. Viva Goa!! Viva Goemkara!! Viva Revolutionary Goans!! Viva POGO!!
