This authentic Trinidad stew fish is simmered with peppers, onions, and Caribbean seasoning for bold island flavor. 🧂Ingredients You’ll Need: 2 lbs sliced fish (washed with lemon) 2 tbsp green seasoning 1 cup tomatoes (sliced) 1½ cups sweet peppers ½ cup onions 5 pimento peppers (sliced) 10 allspice berries 2½ cups water ½ cup ketchup 2 tsp tomato paste 1 tsp each: salt, all-purpose seasoning 2 cups oil for frying + 2 tbsp oil for sautéing 1 cup flour (for dredging) For seasoning the fish: Garlic powder, onion powder, red pepper flakes, seasoning salt & lemon juice 🍋 👩🍳 Instructions: Wash and season fish. Fry until golden brown on both sides. In another pan, sauté vegetables, add seasonings, ketchup, and water. Simmer sauce, then add the fried fish and cook for 15 minutes.
