FNAC 2. Excisional Biopsy 3. Core Needle Biopsy FNAC stands for Fine Needle Aspiration Cytology is a reliable tool for diagnosing cancer in suspicious breast lesions. FNAC is a simple, quick, and inexpensive method that is used to sample superficial masses. It causes minimal trauma to the patient and carries virtually no risk of complications. But this method is not highly recommended as it does not provide any concrete results. During an excisional biopsy, the doctor removes an entire lump or an entire area of abnormal skin, including a portion of normal skin. Stitches are generally used to close the biopsy site after this procedure. For a few days after the surgery, you will probably feel tired and have some pain. Excisional biopsy is recommended only in very few cases as the operation is required after an excisional biopsy. A core needle biopsy is a medical test to remove a piece of tissue from a lesion or mass. The tissue is then tested to find out what it is. A core needle biopsy can remove more tissue than a fine needle biopsy. Because of this, it can provide more information about the cells and tissue removed.
