Live double bass masterclass with Dominic Seldis & student Gustavs Vilsons / RJAcademy 2020/21 Masterclasses of the Riga Jurmala Academy – live double bass by the principal double bass player of the Concertgebouworkest Dominic Seldis. Dominic Seldis studied at the Royal Academy of Music in London with Robin McGee and at the Universität Mozarteum Salzburg with Klaus Stoll. Before joining the Concertgebouworkest in 2008, he was a member of the BBC National Orchestra of Wales. As a concerto soloist he has performed with the London Symphony Orchestra, London Philharmonic Orchestra, BBC National Orchestra of Wales and Concertgebouw Chamber Orchestra amongst others. In addition to playing in the orchestra, Seldis is a member of the John Wilson Orchestra, gives solo recitals and concerts, and performs chamber music. Bottesini - Elegy No.1 in D major Haralds Arnis was enthralled with music from an early age. At the age of five, he began his musical journey at the Emīls Dārziņš Music School, studying the piano. He continued as a pianist until the age of 11, when he decided to change to the double bass. While at the Emīls Dārziņš Music School, he studied under Einārs Upatnieks, taking part in many projects and orchestras. After graduation, Haralds enrolled at the Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music, studying under Prof. Sergejs Brīnums.
