As the Church of The Lord ALADURA marks its 100th anniversary today Sunday 23rd November 2025, the Church's leadership on Saturday November 15, 2025 hosted a World Press Conference, at The Aladura Comprehensive School, Anthony Village Lagos State (South West Nigeria) to reflect on its historic journey, it's contribution to global Christianity and its mission for the future. Founded on Sunday 17th of May 1925 by the late SUPERITENDENT GENERAL, PROPHET (DR.) JOSIAH OLUNOWO OSITELU of blessed memory, the church traces its origin to what is described as Divine Call and direct revelation from GOD, an encounter that reshaped the course of African spiritual heritage. From its modest beginning in the traveling town of Ogere-Remo, Ogun State (South West Nigeria) The Church of The Lord has grown into a global spiritual institution with presence in about 30 nations across Africa, Europe and America and beyond. Throughout its 100 Years existence, the church has remained anchored on the six tenets e.g. Biblical in Pattern, Pentecostal in Power, Evangelical in Mission, Ecumenical in Outlook, Prophetic in Ministry, and Social in Responsibility. These principles, according to the leadership has been the guiding compass sustaining the church through a century of ministry and expansion. Successive Leaders of the church including the founder, the late PROPHET DR. JOSIAH OLUNOWO OSITELU (1925-1966) His Eminence, The Most Reverend Emmanuel Owoade Adeleke Adejobi (1966-1991), His Eminence, The Most Reverend Dr. Gabriel Olusegun Ositelu (1991-1998) and the incumbent The Most REVEREND DR. RUFUS OKIKIOLA OLUBIYI OSITELU (1988- till date) have all strengthened its doctrinal values, deepened it spirituality and broaden its influence. Their Stewardship, church authorities said, has helped preserve the values of holiness, faith, and love at the core of its identity. Among the milestones high lightened at the World Press Briefing is the church's distinction as the first white-robe church in Africa and the world. The present Primate is also the President of World Council of Churches (WCC) for Africa Region, a position that underscores the church's ecumenical relevance. Under his leadership the church has entered what can be described as "a new season of Manifest Glory" marked by advancement in digital evangelism, youth empowerment, theological training, interfaith engagement, and humanitarian outreach. In 100 Years, The Church of The Lord has also continued to consolidate its international expansion, doctrinal stability and missionary programs across the world. Women are equally empowered within the ministry, an attribute the leadership noted as one of its distinctive strengths. The Youths of the church equally hold leadership roles, including heading the Youth section of the World Council of Churches. Speaking on the discipline that governs the church, The Most Reverend Dr Rufus Okikiola Olubiyi Ositelu said "We have a constitution, the Bible. Above all, we believe in the Lord says, we don't do what itching ears want; we always consult God first before doing anything" The Celebration started with a Centenary Anniversary Lecture & Book Launch under the theme "ALADURA PHENOMENON IN GLOBAL CHRISTIANITY" last Thursday November 20th, 2025 under the leadership of the Chief Host and Primate, His Holiness, The Most Rev.
