Si Bubu and the Case of the Missing Bucuk | UniKL Animated Short Film

GOTHIMATION 2026!! University Kuala Lumpur Malaysian Institute of Information & Technology (UNIKL MIIT) Diploma in Animation 2026 Final Year Project (Animation Short Film) STORYLINE Late at night, Si Bubu the hamster wakes up to a horrifying discovery his favourite toy Bucuk is missing. A crime has been committed in his cage, and as the bravest detective in town, he must solve the case before sunrise. Donning a tiny detective hat and holding a magnifying glass, Si Bubu begins his investigation. His first suspect, the suspicious looking teddy bear in the corner. He interrogates it (by dramatically staring at it for five minutes) but gets no answers. Suspicious but not guilty. Then, he spots the first clue a trail of aspen shaving leading out of his cage. He squeezes through the bars and follows the trail across the desk, dodging a falling pencil avalanche along the way. The trail leads to the kitchen, but before he can go further, he encounters his worst enemy the robotic vacuum, Roomba. Roomba is asleep. Mustering all his hamster bravery, Si Bubu tiptoes past, Mission Impossible style, using a rolling marble as transport and almost there. He finally reaches his favourite toy Bucuk, right in front of the refrigerator. Suddenly someone approach from behind it is Roomba the robotic vacuum whirs menacingly, preparing to suck up Si Bubu and his favourite toy. With a heroic leap, Si Bubu grabs his toy mid-air, but the Roomba changes direction heading straight for him and then he scrambles onto the kitchen counter, barely escaping the machine’s clutches. He’s out of breath but victorious. Back in his cage, Si Bubu proudly hugs on his rescued Bucuk, knowing he has solved The Case of the Missing Bucuk.
