The Partners in Amphibian and Reptile Conservation Disease Task Team (PARC DTT) seminar series covers various topics related to reptile and amphibian health and diseases. Snake pentastomes are parasitic crustaceans that infect the respiratory system of snakes, lizards, and other reptiles. Although native snakes can be hosts for native pentastomes, an invasive species of pentastome (Raillietiella orientalis) is now a conservation concern in the United States and has the potential to spread, in part from pet trade of snake species. Learn more about pentastomes, their impacts, current unknowns, and other important information in this upcoming webinar. Information will be presented by Jenna Palmisano and Dr. Terry Farrell, leading experts on invasive pentastome ecology and epidemiology in the United States. This talk was hosted in partnership with the Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies. For resources referenced in the talk, please visit: https://wakelet.com/wake/aRndlyCcyr9L... Thank you!
