One North East: Leaders unite for an united entity, aims to represent regional interests

Prominent leaders from the Northeast, including Meghalaya Chief Minister and National People’s Party President Conrad Sangma, TIPRA Motha founder Pradyot Manikya Debbarma, and former Nagaland minister Mmhonlumo Kikon, formally came together on November 4 to announce a new political platform called One North East. The initiative aims to give the region a unified and stronger voice on the national stage. Addressing a press conference in the national capital, Conrad Sangma described the coming together as a “collective and historic moment” for the region. He announced that a nine-member political committee will be formed to work out the details and roadmap of the new entity in the coming days.
