A teaching aid for the Packing Classes I teach at the Irish Parachute Club. Soundtrack: @suno / AI and self Disclamer: This video is just a reference material, a refresher/visualisation aid, for the packing classes which I occasionally teach at The Irish Parachute Club. Students can use AFTER they finish the class and pass all the tests. Don't use this video to learn how to pack parachutes. Instead go to your Drop Zone, and learn from packers, instructors, coaches or experienced skydivers. And they may tell you which video(s) to watch, if any. I usually ask my students to not watch ANY videos on YouTube until they finish the class and practice ... and practice ... and practice some more. You can NOT learn to pack by just watching YouTube videos. Packing a parachute is a practical skill and it should be studied and rehearsed under a supervision of someone with good experience. There are several styles of packing (all correct), so if you watch many different videos you may be utterly confused. Also, there are some bad videos out there, which are just not safe to follow. They can confuse you even more. Different drop zones may have different "standards" for packing, so make sure you know your's and follow them. Btw, my packing classes usually last for 2 1/2 days and include theory, practicing, rehearsing, homework, practicing at home, learning the most typical "packing" errors and gear "irregularities" and how to identify and cure them. The class is followed by a written test and a practical exam: another 1/2 day. So, it usually takes 3 days (of practical class) to learn to pack, followed by packing under supervision for your first 5-10 times "on your own". Packing is easy ... you just need to know how...
