HD PLS READ ME PLS Hello!! I'm still alive! I cannot believe there are over 300 of you following me now, I'm SO honored. You help inspire me to keep doing this and for that I am grateful for each and every one of you! SO much love!! So this project has been in the works for a long time. I started it over six months ago now. Idk folks, time is fake, I haven't been feeling it pass since March -- haven't really been able to interact with the physical world. Living through what will be noted as a huge moment in human history really STINKS. Definitely the longest time I've ever taken to finish a video but I'm so happy I stuck with it because it turned out beautiful and I'm so excited to have new YGO content for you all! I just have this habit whenever I work with YGO that the projects always end up being so long! But hey, what can I say? These characters often inspire the deepest stories out of me. This time around's quite the doozy: So Kaiba is hosting yet another tournament, and invites all our favorite heroes to participate. He hasn't seen Yami since he moved away -- a decision he ultimately ended up regretting. Kaiba does not try to reach out to him to participate in this tournament. After all, he's sure Yami wouldn't want to hear from him. But oh? What the hell? Yami showed up?? Kaiba is awestruck all over again as he walks in on a duel Yami's currently in, which everyone else is also watching. He feels at home just by looking at Yami (and no, it isn't because he's been learning about his connections to ancient Egypt and figured out that this isn't the first lifetime he's spent loving Yami... no way... that's not real...). After the duel Kaiba immediately goes up to Yami and asks him if they can have a moment. Asks what he's doing here, how he found out about the tournament. Then a helicopter comes and hoists away an angry Kaiba, who's needed elsewhere as host, leaving behind a bewildered and anxious Yami, who never expected to be seeing Kaiba. While in the blimp Kaiba can't help reminiscing about Yami and the time they had together in the past, wondering if Yami's changed at all from the person he used to know. He remembers how Yami made him feel, and all the while Yami is also reminiscing about Kaiba. Little things -- an old flashdrive, a certain card in their decks, anything -- will flood both of their minds with thoughts and memories of the other. When they were young. In love. Together. They've both been having visions of their past life together, when Yami was pharaoh and Kaiba was his right-hand man/love of his life. Kaiba finally finds Yami again and confronts him again about why he's there. Apparently Yugi invited Yami without telling him that Kaiba was running it. Then they realize they're having visions of the same exact memories from their past lives. Up until now, both of them assumed the other had no idea, but now they just don't know how to handle it all. Knowing they were connected in their past lives to this degree was overwhelming. The conversation slips into their less-distant history, opening old wounds and having Yami beg the question of why Kaiba left in the first place. They fight. Yami says he wants nothing more to do with Kaiba. And this time, he's the first to walk away. Yami reflects on his anxieties, about Kaiba, about his visions, everything. He didn't expect to have to face it all when he signed up for this tournament. Nobody told him Kaiba would be here. Then he felt foolish for not considering he would be -- this was a Duel Monsters tournament after all. Plus, all their lives Kaiba always seemed to be there. Right when Yami needed him most. When he hears Kaiba walk down the hall towards him, he has no idea what to expect. But he can't keep it in anymore. He tells Kaiba about what he went through when Kaiba left him, how it destroyed him. Kaiba isn't prepared to see Yami break -- it almost never happens. HE did that. He sprints to him, and as soon as they touch they both bear witness to their past lives. Together. In love. It's too much. They part. Neither of them really know what to do. But when Yami says he should leave the tournament, Kaiba is angry. He accuses Yami of making up their past lives, and Yami's frustrated that even now he's in denial. He feels that Kaiba has changed since they parted. Yami leaves. Kaiba watches the helicopter fly away. Yami looks back. Yami's friends hear all about it once they're all back home after the tournament, call him a dumbass for leaving, and dial Kaiba. They talk briefly. Yami says that he ultimately still loves Kaiba and Kaiba realizes he doesn't want to lose Yami again. He immediately flies to him. They both fully accept their past, and look to the future. Yami finds relief in Kaiba's presence. Kaiba smiles, and kisses him. I OWN NOTHING GORGEOUS ART: ellenchain.tumblr.com
