In this video I explain the differences between the very popular Meguiar's Ultimate Quik Wax, Ultimate Quik Detailer, and Ultimate Wash & Wax Anywhere detailing products. I also perform a water test to showcase how Ultimate Quik Detailer and Ultimate Wash & Wax Anywhere behave when applied over top of a very hydrophobic wax surface. Meguiar's Ultimate Quik Wax has the more durable polymer protectant in its formula, but it also has the least amount of lubricity. You do not want to use it for any sort of contamination cleaning or spot cleaning, you should only use it for paint that has already been cleaned. Meguiar's Ultimate Quik Detailer does not have a durable protectant, merely a hydrophobic polymer that allows you to retain the great water beading of your base layer product. Some other spray detailers can neutralize the water beading of waxes causing users to believe that the wax has been significantly reduced or removed from the surface. It also has a more lubricated formula to assist in removing light soiling, contamination, dust, or areas that require quick spot cleaning. Ultimate Wash & Wax Anywhere is a fantastic waterless wash product. Using careful technique, you can spray it onto a regularly contaminated paint surface and wipe with a microfiber towel to clean and protect your paint all at once. It does not require a pre-rinse unless the paint is significantly contaminated, and it does not require any water rinsing after applying it. It has the most lubrication and encapsulation chemistry compared to Ultimate Quik Detailer, and it will leave behind a more durable form of protection. However, the protection is not as durable as Ultimate Quik Wax. Once the paint is completely clean, you can use any of these products to help boost the gloss and slickness of the paint. They can all be used as a drying aid as well without issues. Since Ultimate Wash & Wax Anywhere plays very nicely with its base layer waxes, the extra lubrication and larger size (26oz) makes it a solid choice over Ultimate Quik Detailer (22oz), although Meguiar's did not intend for it to be its absolute replacement. Many stores have them similarly priced. Meguiar's Ultimate Quik Wax remains an absolute must have spray wax sealant that also plays very well with base layer waxes and sealants. They smell fantastic as well! Ultimate Wash and Wax Anywhere smells just like their Ultimate Wash and Wax soap. Ultimate Quik Detailer smells like NXT Tech Wax 2.0, and Ultimate Quik Wax is possibly the best smelling detailing product of all time with a tropical fruit punch scent. One of my favorites!
