V. Sobinov Conservatoire, a Government University under the Ministry of Culture, Government of the Russian Federation. This landmark international academic collaboration marks a decisive step towards building Atmanirbhar Western Music Education in India and establishing a national framework for music education, assessment, and qualifications that is globally benchmarked, academically rigorous, and governed from India. Musicea today stands as India’s global voice for music qualifications, creating a sovereign, future-ready ecosystem for Western classical and contemporary music education while proudly showcasing India’s cultural heritage on global platforms. ________________________________________ Historic MoU Signing Ceremony | Russian House, Kolkata | 19 January 2026 The Memorandum of Understanding was formally signed on 19 January 2026 at the Russian House (Gorky Sadan), Kolkata, in the presence of senior government representatives, diplomats, academic leaders, educators, and eminent citizens from India and the Russian Federation. Dr. Sukanta Majumdar, Hon’ble Minister of State (MoS), Ministry of Education, Government of India, formally acknowledged the historic MoU signing, recognising its national significance in strengthening India’s global engagement in music education, academic research, and cultural diplomacy. ________________________________________ Visiting Academic Delegation from Saratov State L. V. Sobinov Conservatoire The visiting delegation comprised senior academic leadership from the Conservatoire: • Prof. Alexander G. Zanorin, Rector of the Conservatoire, Professor of the Choir Conducting Department • Prof. Viacheslav Y. Bondarenko, Vice-Rector for Educational Affairs and International Relations, Professor of the Folk Instruments Department • Ms. Natalia S. V. Sobinov Conservatoire, jointly signed by the Rector of the University and the Director of Musicea Arts and Culture Council. The teachers and students who received their certificates on 19 January 2026 became the first batch in India to receive such a prestigious academic certificate issued by a Government University with a legacy of over 100 years, globally respected for delivering the highest standards of conservatoire pedagogy and music education.
