Senator Boyer is no stranger to racism in health care, and the topic of the forced and coerced sterilization of women in Canada is a difficult one. It is an issue that many non-Indigenous people are shocked to learn is still happening to this day. As with any complex issue, there have been a range of suggestions presented on how to accomplish the end of forced and coerced sterilization, but it has been clear from the start that the healing process must be led by survivors, for it is only the voices of those who have been adversely impacted by this that can guide the process towards healing. Join us on December 10 as Senator Boyer discusses her work with survivors, which led to introducing Bill S-250 - legislation aimed at amending the Criminal Code in regards to sterilization procedures.
