This is a follow up to the B660M Gaming X video where we found Gigabyte to be setting voltages too low resulting in performance issues - • B660M Gaming X AX review and comparison - ... - filmed in september but i had no time to edit it back then. While testing the Gigabyte boards voltage offset settings - basically, different boards come with different offsets baked in, resulting in performance regression at supposed stock settings with the "bad" samples - we find silicon lottery still being a thing with Alder Lake even with the restriction intel set on undervolt, and we can see that the Asus Z690M PLUS D4 has a better VRM jst as we found in our firt testing in february - • ROUNDUP MAINBOARD GEN12 - test 'out of the... . But most important, we find that MSI has gave us a way to actually save a shitload of power, and therefore noise and money (by making the stock cooler useful again) with an obscure setting that gave back real undervolt on locked SKUs.
