Greetings from the Fargo Spelemannslag Hardanger Fiddle Workshop

There are more people making Hardanger Fiddles in the metro area of Fargo, North Dakota, and Moorhead, Minnesota, than there are in the rest of the USA combined. We are part of a club called the Fargo Spelemannslag. Over the last ten years, we have grown as more and more people have become apprentice Hardingfele luthiers under Bud Larsen, and more and more local musicians fall in love with this Norwegian folk instrument. We have group workshops every couple of months where we help each other make our fiddles and get guidance from our teacher Bud. Here is a video of us playing in our workshop with several Hardanger Fiddles in various stages of being built.
