3 MONTHS ACROSS NORTHEAST INDIA 🇮🇳 | Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Arunachal | Off-Grid & Unfiltered Welcome to my raw & unfiltered journey across Northeast India, where I spent 3 transformative months exploring Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, and Arunachal Pradesh — by public transport, local jeeps, hitchhiking, and on foot, often with no mobile network, no plans, and complete openness to the unknown. 🌧️🌲 🛖 I stayed in homestays and tribal houses, traveled through remote jungle villages, crossed rivers on bamboo rafts, and celebrated life with people who became friends and family. 📶 With no phone signal for days, I reconnected with what truly matters — nature, people, and presence. 🎥 Timestamps: 00:00 – Welcome to Northeast India 00:36 – Where is Northeast India? 01:36 – Tribes and Diversity 02:46 – The Beauty of Getting Along without Network 03:40 – Nature 04:01 – All Permits you will need 05:31 – Magical Festivals 05:42 – Fooood 06:14 – Local Alcohol & Chai 07:09 – How to Use Local Transport 10:44 – Special Thanks to My Friends❤️ 11:40 – You can make it! 🧭 Highlights of My Journey: 📍 Assam: Explored Majuli Island, stayed with the Mising tribe Learned about Donyi-Polo religion, stilt house life, and river culture Delicious food: bamboo shoot curry, black rice, and wild foraged greens 📍 Arunachal Pradesh: Roamed the mystical Ziro Valley, visited Apatani villages Attended local festivals and spent nights without electricity or internet Permits (ILP&PAP) were needed — available online or via locals (can be tricky) 📍 Nagaland: Timed my visit with the Aoleang Festival – a colorful explosion of culture Stayed in Longwa, where the chief's house splits India and Myanmar Konyak tattoos, rice beer, and ancient oral traditions 📍 Meghalaya: Fell in love with the rain-soaked jungles, root bridges, and monsoon rivers Journeyed deep into Cherrapunji, Dawki, Mawlynnong, and hidden caves Learned how Khasi culture blends matrilineal structure and fierce nature reverence 🚍 How I Traveled: No private taxis. Only local jeeps, buses, shared Sumos, and kindness Some days I waited 5+ hours for a ride — but it was always worth it Offline maps, pen & paper, and lots of chai with locals helped me get around Limited mobile coverage: Airtel was most reliable, but still patchy in many parts 🍛 Food Culture: From pork with bamboo shoots to fermented fish and red rice! Vegan/vegetarian? Not easy, but possible with flexibility and trust Each region has a distinct palette — smoky, fermented, earthy, and unforgettable 💬 People Who Made It Possible: This journey would not have been the same without the incredible humans I met. 🙏 Huge thanks to: Roheen from North by Northeast – the best friend in all situations! 👉 Contact Roheen: / north_by_northeast Eashan, Nich Doley, Nishant, and Siddharth — you made the road home. 📲 Stay Connected: 🔔 Subscribe to my channel for authentic, immersive travel stories from the world’s forgotten corners: ➡️ No Network with Katya 📸 Instagram: @NoNetworkWithKatya 🧳 SEO Keywords: Northeast India backpacking | Assam travel vlog | Ziro Valley Apatani | Nagaland Hornbill Festival | Arunachal tribal culture | Meghalaya root bridges | Majuli Island stilt houses | jungle travel India | no network travel vlog | India offbeat travel | solo female India travel | how to get ILP permit Arunachal | Northeast India by public transport | North East India food culture | Hornbill tattoo Konyak | living root bridge trek | Shillong food guide | Longwa village Myanmar India 🔖 Hashtags: #NortheastIndia #NoNetworkWithKatya #ZiroValley #NagalandTribes #HornbillFestival #MajuliIsland #Meghalaya #AssamVlog #RootBridges #OffGridTravel #SoloBackpacking #TravelIndia2025 #NortheastIndiaVlog #TribalCulture #FemaleTravelIndia #JungleLife #ArunachalPradesh #BackpackingIndia #HomestayExperience #HiddenIndia #NomadLife #RiceBeer #ILPpermit #CulturalIndia
