In the Ingot Isle, Moonlight Rebel and Donkey Kong are searching for Banandium Gems amidst a gold rush. But then, a mining company called VoidCo. arrives on a giant, planet-like boulder machine known as the Pay-Dirt Piledriver and steals the Golden Bananas known as Banandium Gems. The boulder then pushes Ingot Isle further into the ground, with the resulting storm sending Moonlight Rebel and Donkey Kong and the Prospector Monkeys into the depths along with it. After regaining consciousness, Moonlight Rebel and Donkey Kong surveys the scene of Ingot Isle's cave-in, when a purple rock entity falls from the sky. Upon investigating, they discovers that the entity is called the Odd Rock, who decides to join him.
