Today, I officially began my second year of my PhD program at the University of California San Diego! Although the Fall 2021 quarter does not begin until Thursday, I started my graduate student researcher position. I am working with the same program I worked with last year, so my tasks consist of reading and coding interviews that were conducted last year. Now that I have been through two graduate school application processes, I want to share my knowledge and the helpful information I have gained through those experiences. Additionally, for the past four years, I have been working as a Retention Specialist and Director for a federally-funded program at a higher education institution. I spent these four years helping over 400 students to apply to four-year institutions, attain scholarships, and navigate the higher education system.
