[For those who wanted english caption] Shoaib Akhtar Bowling Action Analysis- [A] RUN-UP: [1] Shoaib Akhtar had an explosive long run-up of around 30-35 meters. [2] He used to take off like a jet & runs like a cheetah. He gradually increased his speed & his running strides, but also kept sure that they were all balanced in nature. [3] He believed that the faster you run, the more quicker you become. [4] He always ran in a straight line aiming straight toward his target, running in cyclic motion & always landing on his mid-foot while running. [5] He never ever decelerated during his run-up. [B] JUMP & GATHER: [1] He had a nice & long jump which helped him in transferring his momentum from his run-up to his BFC. [2] During his jump he is slightly titled backward to properly use his shin lead to bowl fast. [3] Initially he had his load-up away from his body but after changing his action he had his load-up close to his body [or torso] which helped him to bowl much more quicker than previous one. [4] During his jump he slightly rotated his body towards umpire so that he can land on a side-on position during his BFC. [C] BFC: [1] Shoaib Akhtar had a very quick BFC that helped him in transferring his momentum from back-foot to front-foot directly without collapsing on his back-foot. [2] He was a Knee-dominant side-on bowler i.e. he slightly bent his knee during his BFC to generate more rotational power from his trunk as well. [3] Being a side-on bowler he showed more hip-to-shoulder separation resulting in a delayed bowling-arm. [4] He also had a nice pre-turn before releasing the ball. [D] DELIVERY STRIDE & FFC: [1] During his delivery stride he formed a speed-bolt position or a star-shaped which not only helped him reaching his maximum bowling speed potential but also it made sure that he was properly aligned during his delivery stride thereby increasing his pace & reducing the risk to injury. [2] He landed on his front-foot using the heel-stride technique & always tried to grab or pull the soil towards him using his front-foot that's why he had those holes in his shoes as he landed on his front foot, due to movement of inertia his front-foot tends to move in forward direction but his shoes tries to oppose this motion due to which a huge amount of force is applied on the toes of his foot resulting in injury that's why he had those holes on his shoes. So that he can avoid hurting his toes and to feel more comfortable while grabbing the soil. Doing this not only helped him to rotate his upper-torso more quickly but also helped in improving his ball release speed. [3] He intentionally bent his front-foot so that he can use his full body power [Acc. to him], but remember that he never showed forward movement of his front-foot due to which he didn't lose his pace. [4] He always targeted the 5th stump of the pitch. Due to his slingy action it was also difficult for the batsmen to read & judge the ball as he always had his bowling arm behind his body. [5] He also tried to grab air & pull it towards him as soon as possible to delay his bowling-arm & to increase his pace. [6] He had a high release of around 8 to 9 feet off the ground which allowed him to generate more bounce & pace from the pitch. ------------------------------------------------------- For Business Enquiry: [email protected] -------------------------------------------------------- More videos like this👇👇 #1 | Dale Steyn Analysis • Dale Steyn Detailed Bowling Action An... #2 | Shoaib Akhtar Analysis • Shoaib Akhtar Detailed Bowling Action... #3 | Brett Lee Analysis • Brett Lee Detailed Bowling Action Ana... #4 | Mitchell Starc Analysis • Mitchell Starc Detailed Bowling Actio... #5 | Jofra Archer Analysis • Jofra Archer Detailed Bowling Action ...
