We Caught BIG BASS at WITBANK DAM!

Check out the last Witbank Video where we caught 100 Bass in a day!!!    • Catching 100 BASS at WITBANK DAM - EBASS W...   In this video, we fish Our ClearWater Club Comp at Witbank Dam. What I thought was going to be 3 days of slamming dinks, turned into landing my biggest Bass of 2024! On our practice day, we tried some spots that we saw some big spawning fish on last year... But all our practice day showed us was that Witbank Dam is still struggling with the plague of dinks! We did not have much info to rely on for Day 1 of the comp, so I was quite nervous going into it... On Day 1, we won the draw to pull away 5min before the other boats, so we head straight to a spot that we always catch fish at... The sand bar! The sand bar, like most of the dam, only produced undersized fish so we decided to head up into the river... further than we've ever gone before. Thankfully, all that travelling wasn't for nothing! My Dad and I both got 1 keeper in the river, but that was it before the heat of the day came in. After taking a short break to cool off in the shade, we head back onto the dam and decided to go back to the left of the Dam Wall, where we practiced the day before. Boy was that the right move! With the combination of the StrikeKing Caffeine Shad and being in the right place at the right time, I managed to land my biggest Bass of 2024 and my Witbank PB. 2,74Kg!!! As my Dad says in the video..."At Witbank... No, Never!" I was filled with adrenaline! Suddenly, there was something to fight for! We decided to check out the opposite end of the Dam Wall, the far right hand side. As we pulled in, we started catching fish. We knew straight away we were onto something. I figured out the retrieve that was triggering these fish to eat and while fishing through the undersized fish, my Dad and I each managed to land a fish over 1Kg!!! I filled my Bag in the dying minutes of the Comp and rushed back before it was too late! We were buzzing for Day two! Word got out about the Honey Hole we found on the right of the Dam Wall. We knew we had to make sure to get to the spot before anyone else! As the horn blew, I put my foot flat, got on the pad, and focused on nothing but the micro adjustments on the steering wheel and jack plate to get the boat moving as quickly as possible! We made it! First to the spot! I quickly landed my only keeper for the day before the bite quietened down... My Dad managed two keepers on this day! Unfortunately, not securing bag on Day two hurt my total score and I ended up placing 3rd over all, after winning Day 1. It was a super tough weekend to find those bigger fish. Well done to Pierre Mare and ‪@BassChick_ZA‬ on your first and second places respectively. Your guys consistency was seriously impressive!!! I definitely could not keep up!
