He started studying music in an even younger age and through the years he combined his dj skills and music education producing quality dance tunes and experimenting with styles and sound. By the end of 90s he had fans all around Europe since the crowd he was working with was mainly British, Swedish, German and Dutch, so in early 00s he lived and worked in London for a while and appeared as guest in Clubs in Sweden, Germany, Italy, Switzerland and more. During his stay in London, he had the chance to produce music with several artists including his dear friend and collaborator Dj Sol and Legendary English Vocalist Diane Charlemagne. In the mid-00s he moved to Athens to finish his music studies on contemporary orchestral composition and he lives there ever since. Last 15 years he was resident Dj in several high profile, Athenian, clubs, restaurants, and bars including Perfect Ten, Eleven club, Albion restaurant, Rockfellas, Red door and more. Last few years he is resident in popular, cult bar Briki and appears as guest all around Greece and as a resident in Siddharta Lounge By Buddha-Bar in Muscat. He loves all house forms but last few years, above all he loves deep house. As he says “Deep House is a magic carpet. When these lovely sub basses, fat kicks and pads blend with ethnic sounds from all over the world it feels like you are in a magic carpet ride all over earth, through time and space”. He has released many original and remix tracks with several labels including Moonster music, M-Sol, Cafe de Anatolia, Feelgood music, Minos-EMI (Universal), Purple music and more. In the past, he has also released music, under the names (Ted) Frozack (FompUK, 9th floor records, Dbeatzion Records and more), TheodoreF (Minos/EMI) and more. In 2020 he has released his latest album “ThroDef presents Café Grec” with FM Records / Meditelectro. Other than Dj / producer / musician, Theodore taught music theory and music history in National Conservatory from 2007 until 2012. Koumbios was born in 1965 on the island of Rhodes and lived on the nearby island of Tilos for the first few years of his life. He studied Byzantine, classical and modern European music, as well as the traditional music of the world’s peoples. He also attended seminars on modern music technology in Greece and abroad. Koumbios has made 15 recordings and his compositions have also been included in international collections such as Mystic World, Famous Greek Composer, Night Collection, Buddha Bar, Mother Earth, Putumayo Presents: Greece, a musical odyssey. He has produced world projects such as Zambetas Concept, Gypsies Bar, Balkan Voices I and Balkan Voices II. Michalis Koumbios is a composer in the ancient Greek sense of the word, sometimes writing lyrics and producing, as well as being an expert in sound and recording. He has worked with the most distinguished Greek musicians, singers and lyricists as well as with the most recognized names in world music. His music has been used on television programmes and series, documentaries in Greece and abroad.
