During the incident, intense gunfire erupted, and a suicide bomber in a vehicle loaded with explosives attempted to ram the convoy. The next team of forces successfully stopped the bomber, preventing a large-scale tragedy in Bannu city. Five terrorists were killed in the exchange of fire. Lieutenant Colonel Shehzada Gul Faraz (43) from Mansehra and Sepoy Karamat Shah (28) from Peshawar were martyred while leading from the front. The ISPR highlighted that Afghan Taliban authorities failed once again to prevent terrorists from using Afghan territory to carry out attacks in Pakistan. The Pakistani military reaffirmed its commitment to continue indiscriminate operations against terrorists wherever they operate. Under the National Action Plan’s Federal Apex Committee-approved vision, “Azm-e-Istiqamat,” counter-terrorism campaigns will continue with full force.
