Supreme Court has now pulled up Mumbai Civic body BMC over delay in the Thane creek crisis. The sewage water treatment plant in Thane Creek Wetland has impacted marine life. Due to the untreated sewage water, the creek has been contaminated. Thane Creek is an important wetland. However, the wetland has now turned into a wasteland which is impacting not only the environment but also the marine and aquatic life. The untreated sewage water from Thane creek then flows into the Arabian Sea.
